  • What conditions are eligible for Medical Cannabis?
    Any condition can be considered for treatment with medical cannabis, however the most common are Pain, Anxiety, PTSD, Insomnia, Depression, Epilepsy and other neurological conditions, Cancer, Gastroenterology and Palliative care
  • Do I need to ask my GP before applying?
    Medical cannabis does not require GP consent and patients usually self refer to our clinic. However information such as medical history will be required to approve you.
  • I have not been to my GP or other professional for my condition, can I still access treatment by medical cannabis?
    Patients who have not attempted primary treatments for their medical condition will unfortunately, not meet the eligibility criteria. However, any medication, treatment, or therapy prescribed by your doctor, even if it was declined, can count as one of the two required forms of medication for eligibility.
  • When can I book a consultation?
    Once we have received your completed application form and a summary from your GP.

  • What if I need to change/ cancel my appointment?
    If you need to change or cancel your appointment. Please call the clinic on 01481 726577 or pop into the clinic at The Original Alternative, North Quay, North Plantation, St Peter Port, GY1 2LQ, opening hours: Mon 10am-6pm, Tues 10am-8pm, Wed 10am-6pm, Thur 10am-8pm, Fri 10am-6pm, Sat 10am-2pm, Sun Closed. Please make sure any changes are made with at least 48 hours’ notice or you will still be charged.
  • Do you have disabled access?
    Yes we can arrange disabled access, please call and give us 24 hours notice. Please note our building otherwise contains uneven steps to your appointment room.
  • What do I need to bring with me?
    Please bring a recent form of Photo ID.
  • Can my GP apply for me?
    Yes, you can apply or your GP can apply of your behalf.
  • How long is a consultation?
    A consultation ranges from 15min - 30 mins depending on requirements.
  • When are consultations available?
    Consultations will take place Tuesday and Thursday evenings 5:30pm -8:30pm.
  • How can I pay?

  • How much will my prescription cost?
    This will depend on what medicinal cannabis product our professionals prescribe you with and can be discussed in full. For pricing of appointments please see our consultation options.

  • How long before I can collect my prescription?
    Certain products will be available immediately, others are ordered specially for you, with a 2 week order time.
  • How long will my prescription last?
    A prescription should last you 28 days
